Back in Oz

Well friends and followers, I'm back in Australia and with a few little touches the album is all but finished......its been quite a ride and the RnR at the end of the intensive 10 days really helped have a break from it and re-energise.

I went back in on the last 2 weeks for a day here and there just to tidy stuff up and actually did a vocal track on the morning we left......i just had an urge to to Now That You're Gone........it wasn't quite right and I felt i knew what was needed - you can be the judge.

Now that I'm back in my little studio, I'm doing some guitar solo work on Terrorised for an extended dance mix of the song (although I don't know any producers of that style....), I want to re-look at Crossroads Ahead electric guitar and a couple of verses. Phil Rigger (all round master wizard) is doing some vocal harmonies for me on Inside Her Eyes and two more session players are coming in; Leslie to do female vocals and keys on Time Spent With You and Glen To do organ and whatever other keys are needed on a few tracks.........its really coming together.

The tracks are sounding fabulous and I am really keen to rough mix 5 tracks and send them out to agents and festival organisers to get this ball rolling (and me some work).

I thought for this post I'd give you a pictorial feast of the last weeks of the states.... this is the view from Poet's Walk on a day off - the Catskills in the distance

And more

And the Kingston Bridge over the Hudson River on the way to Woodstock

The lovely colours of the leaves on the forest floor.......well, I like them

The weekend in New York City meeting my lovely girlfriend.....that's the Chrysler building on the left - an art deco triumph...

And after a Diner breakfast.......in the snow - oh, this was a photo of the day after.......back to the studio - the snow is after the diner....

Here's the new digs - courtesy of Airbnb

Now here's the studio shots.....but first the harmonium used on Believe in front of the Robert Johnson shrine....then the lovely guitar rack.....the decal free headstocks are the guitars I put together.......and they feature a lot in this album. I also put together the first Strat, which is all over Reached The End...

And then a weekend in Boston before some final tracks......a funky wall at Jamaica Plain

Oldest church in Boston (there are a LOT of churches in Boston) in Harvard Square from the courtyard of Harvard Hall....

So, we had a night in NYC then flew home on the most gruelling fight I've done for sometime. Customs went through everything, smashed off a lock on my guitar case to check if it was a guitar (what happened to x-ray) and damaged both cases.......never do it again this way...

Chat soon peeps.......lots of love...

Franco - thanks for the comment. Sadly, Inside Her Eyes didn't make this album but PM me on info@johnsammers.com and I'll see what I can do for you.
