Believe

V1

You’re source light energy, and life is meant to be, simple stuff once you see,

you’re here for all eternity

Chorus

And don’t listen to words from those who tell you that you’ll never be free

Talk about the world you want, then all you have to do is Believe.

V2

Industrious heart, emotion’s seat. Take care its memory is deep

Learn to breathe and make the sounds. Release the pains until a peace is found.

Chorus

And don’t listen to words from those who tell you that you’ll never be free

Talk about the world you want, then all you have to do is Believe.

Bridge

Know yourself, find your centre ground. Spread love to all of those around.

V3

She won’t look behind the gloss, the show stops her feeling lost

And they bait, and we fall, until our back's against their wall.

Chorus

And don’t listen to words from those who tell you that you’ll never be free

Talk about the world you want, then all you have to do is Believe.

Bridge

You don’t need me to tell you this. Garbage in, garbage out at best.

SOLO

V4

Share the pains, share the highs. Its all change say the wise

Check your friends, are they alright? Because we’re all one inside the light.

Chorus x 2

And don’t listen to words from those who tell you that you’ll never be free

Talk about the world you want, then all you have to do is Believe.

Carmen Lake

V1

She was ice-cold from inside, nothing flowed but a bitterness tide.

She had been wronged and it sobbed out her light, by a man she had loved all her life

Carmen Lake, Carmen Lake, such a long way to fall

V2

Her eyes shone like jewels, a black onyx fire, her lips gave cherries sleepless nights

Many had tried, but she wouldn’t give a smile or a word in the small town where she lived

Carmen Lake, Carmen Lake, such a long way to fall

V3

Then one winter night, like a hard, banished beast dredged a stranger a long long way from peace

Kept much to himself, but it’s a small town and he couldn’t see any beauty earthbound

Carmen Lake, Carmen Lake, such a long way to fall

Bridge

Spring Easter shine, big party in town

Everyone came out to play

Some drunk lads they tried, and wouldn’t take no

’til the stranger stepped out to sa-a-ave Carmen Lake

(SOLO)

V4

Back at the do she sat be the man and learned how he’d suffered at the hand

of a cold-hearted woman that fractured his soul and kept him searching for the family she stole.

Carmen Lake, Carmen Lake, such a long way to fall

V5

Thawed but still cool, she slowly began, timing town trips to the beat of the man

Who had spent long years just as she’d done with a heart that never felt the sun

Carmen Lake, Carmen Lake, such a long way to fall

Cold-Blooded Killer

V1
You came on like someone who cares

A buffet of half-eaten words seemed to fill ya

But men are judged by their deeds

And through the false smiles it's now clear you're a cold blooded killer

V2
It would never have flown but for me

Wouldn't have got off the ground, then you

Suddenly became big in your own head,

and lone-wolfed your way to nowhere like a cold-blooded killer, a cold-blooded killer

CHORUS

And you're no friend, you're no friend, you're no friend of mine

You're a cold-blooded killer, a cold-blooded killer

V3
The new King of the West London scene

Kingston to Kings Cross, everyone knew ya

Then you lost it all on a mad scheme

And threw all your friends in a ditch

Like a cold-blooded killer, a cold-blooded killer

CHORUS

You're no friend, you're no friend, you're no friend of mine

Guitar solo

Mid 8

Ask him what he said

Ask him what he's done

Must be different in his head

Watch out when he comes

He's a cold-blooded killer, a cold-blooded killer

V4
What is the price of  lie?

Was it all worth it? Time will tell ya.

and time to look again at the meaning of friend

Cos it's clear to me now that deep down you're a cold-blooded killer,

A Cold Blooded Killer and

You're no friend, you're no friend, you're no friend of mine

You're no friend, you're no friend, you're no friend of mine

You're a cold blooded killer, a cold-blooded killer,

a cold-blooded killer, a cold-blooded killer. (You're no friend counterpoint)

Fade out on you're no friend

Crossroads Ahead

V1
I live in a city that creeps of decay

I smell it in my bones, I see it every day

A circus for the dead, with life on display

A bitter wind’s blowing our way

Crossroads Ahead

V2
Maria comes in fire-engine red

Looking for the lover inside her head

Speaks like a lily strangled by heat

Who will this night flower meet?

Crossroads Ahead, Crossroads Ahead

Music

V3
I lie awake in this inner-city sprawl

Wondering what I’m doing here at all

I turn to my lover without a word

She nestles to my chest like a startled bird

Crossroads Ahead, Crossroads Ahead

V4
i rise to a morning where no dream falls

The shadow of my flesh lying loose in the hall

I feed a thought into to my mouth

There’s a storm coming west of south

Crossroads Ahead, Crossroads Ahead

Music

V5
Out into the light the badgers blink

Surrounded by wire and a powerful stink and

Soon there’ll be nowhere left to think

In a hole that was once a heart

Crossroads Ahead, Crossroads Ahead

V6
People say the world will expire

By bomb, by fire, by new messiah

Deep in the shadow an old woman grins

There’s a thousand stripes to a tiger’s skin

There’s a thousand stripes to a tiger’s skin

Crossroads Ahead, Crossroads Ahead

Crossroads Ahead, Crossroads Ahead

Everything Came Crashing Down

V1
Down my street there’s a medicine man and he’s walking,

Past an empty block that used to hold a dance hall.

As the beads of sweat trickle down my front he’s calling…

He cries, Good God What Have You Done?

Its just a broken wing on a flightless bird…

And another dream lying in the dirt

CHORUS
I never thought I’d fall, I never thought I’d fall, I never thought I’d fall

Then Everything Came Crashing Down

V2
It was an cold old trail but knew that i had to go searching

Would he teach me how he always knew?

And what would i give for the knowledge to stop rehearsing

So I crossed the street and never looked back

Its a blazing fire on the edge of town

and an elevator that only goes down

CHORUS
I never thought I’d fall, I never thought I’d fall, I never thought I’d fall

Then Everything Came Crashing Down

Solo

Its another broken man sobbing in his hands

and a lifeless tune from a worn out band

CHORUS
I never thought I’d fall, I never thought I’d fall, I never thought I’d fall

Then Everything Came Crashing Down
Then Everything Came Crashing Down
